Hosting an online baby shower is simple to do. Like any party that you host, some preparation needs to be done before you send out the first invitation.

We have listed the information that you will need to gather prior to registering your Mommy Party. You may want to print this page to use as a checklist.

• Decide the length of the party. Our Mommy Parties close one month after the due date of the mom-to-be. It is up to you on how long the party will run. If you begin the party in her fifth month of pregnancy, then it will run for five months. If you begin the party in her sixth month, it will run for four months, and so on… Keep in mind that the moment that you send the e-mail invitations, the Mommy Party begins.
  
  

• Gather your guest list. You will need the name and e-mail address of your guests. You can invite an unlimited number of people. You can invite people from anywhere in the world! Just be sure that you have updated e-mail addresses for your guests. You will be able to print off paper invitations for those guests who maybe check their e-mail once a month or do not use a computer that often. You can then mail their invitation to them.

• Digital picture of mom-to-be. You will be able to post up to ten pictures of the mom-to-be on the party page. The last one entered will appear on the party page. Once guests click to enlarge the picture, they can scroll through the rest of the photos.

• Basic information. During registration, we will ask you for your information: name, address, phone, etc. We will also need information about the expectant mommy.

• Due Date. You will need to know the due date of the baby.

• Gift registry. Your online baby shower is already set up with a Banner for Babies R Us, since that is the store that most of our moms-to-be are registered. If you would like to have any of the other stores that we have listed, please email us with your name, the party ID and the store you would like us to place on your party page AFTER registration is complete.

• Hostess “Welcome to the Party” message. Write it as if you are standing in the doorway greeting your guests.

• Mom-to-be "Hello": Ask the mom-to-be to write a quick "hello" to her guests. She could include details of her pregnancy or anything she would like to share with her guests. This will be posted directly on the party page.

• Invitation verse: Write the text for your own online invitation. Personalize it for the mom. "It's going to be a boy!" or "Ashley Nicole will be here soon!" - something that relates to the mother and her pregnancy. For help in writing your verse, visit VerseIt.com for suggestions.

*Tip: you may want to mention that it is an online celebration. If you do not wish to write your own, we have a cute rhyming verse that is available for your use.

• Multiple languages: There may be some guests in your party that do not speak or read English. If so, please visit our International orders page for suggestions.
