Displaying Gifts:
For the gift area, possibly use something baby-ish to hold some of the gifts and let the gifts taper away from it. Such as a bassinet, a stroller, a cradle (any large item that the mom has already for the baby or possibly a gift that is set up for her with a bow on it.) For example: if it is a bassinet, set it up in the gift corner, hang some tulle (very inexpensive at fabric stores) from the ceiling down to the bassinet, and as guests arrive, fill the bassinet with the gift packages. As it overflows, put some down on the ground around the bassinet. It makes for a beautiful picture for the baby book.

Hanging Centerpiece:
Make a hanging centerpiece with baby items. If the baby will be a boy, blow up a 12 in. blue balloon. Tie 4 or 5 baby items (such as booties, empty baby bottle, pacifier, rattle, etc) to the balloon with light blue curling ribbon. Be sure it extends just past the balloon so that it hangs nicely. Tie another ribbon to the balloon for hanging.

Baby Clothesline:
String a clothesline across part of the room and hang baby clothing from it using clothespins. Vary the items placed on the clothesline. Some ideas are: onesies, hat, shirt, bib, pants, sweater, socks, and gowns. A very sweet decoration, and a wonderful gift to the mom after the party! *Try to hang the clothesline somewhere out of the way of traffic.

Watermelon Carriage Centerpiece:
Cut a watermelon to resemble the shape of a baby stroller. Basically, cut out one quarter of it and zig zag the edge for the canopy top. Scoop out the inside of the watermelon, cut up other types of fruit and then place it all back into the watermelon. You can even add strips of ribbon to the edge to make it look more baby-ish. Use cookies or any type of round food as the wheels.

Umbrella Decoration:
Decorate an umbrella in the open position. Hang blue streamers off of it, some tumbling down past the edge of the umbrella. Hang the umbrella from the ceiling above the gift table. A very creative idea! You are sure to get some "wows"!
